Personal Statement

Seeking help from others is often difficult. However, I feel specific individuals are placed in our lives to help guide us through various issues and life transitions. As a mental health professional, I approach counseling in a way in which the client feels they are being listened to and validated. I enjoy working with individuals and families, often seeing parents, siblings, couples, or other individuals in the family. As a Christian, I also integrate my faith into sessions as appropriate, respecting each client's beliefs. I believe God called me to this profession to help others working through past or present stresses affecting their daily lives.

As a licensed counselor in Plano, I work within my practice. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and master's in Family & Consumer Sciences at Louisiana Tech University. I also completed a second master's degree in Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. Recently I completed my doctoral degree in Psychological and Counseling Studies, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Ministry.

I implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and additional counseling methods while incorporating my faith and counseling individuals, adults, & families. I have worked with families and children for the past 12 years and would like to work with you.

I am also a Certified Anger Management Specialist-I (CAMS-I) and provide anger management counseling to individuals of all ages. I can offer individual anger management help, including seeing those ordered by the judicial system.

I look forward to talking with you more.
