Personal Statement
We are each born whole and equal, yet within the context of society’s impressions, we subconsciously discriminate. This discrimination can become internalized and directed toward ourselves, causing a series of negative thoughts and emotions. My passion and experience lies with helping people who struggle with societal expectations and personal acceptance.
Particularly working with the LGBTQ+ and TGNC communities, I strive to approach each individual from the perspective of social justice and autonomy. I work with these individuals to practice mindful techniques and other eclectic methods to discover personal worth, empowerment, and acceptance. Together, we can identify unhealthy thought and behavior patterns, and break the cycle to work toward creating a life of love and renewal.
Although I specialize with the above issues, I do also provide therapy to individuals and couples struggling with depression, eating disorders, self esteem, sexual abuse, anxiety, parenting, self-harm, coping skills, and many more.
The people who love and support Trans individuals often have questions and concerns of their own, as dealing with a loved ones transition can be a challenging process. Loved ones go through a transition process of their own, specific to their relationships as partners, parents, friends and family members. This group will offer a space for them to come together and share their stories and experiences as well as provide support for each other.
