Personal Statement
Originally from Sweden, I have worked here in the United States as a therapist for over 29 years. My husband and I reside with Buster, a German Shepard- Standard Poodle mix, who occasionally assists me with clients. Along with Buster, our blended family consists of seven children and fourteen grandchildren. In my years of experience, I have worked as a medical and psychiatric social worker/therapist in hospitals, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs and in private practice. With respect and compassion, we will work together to increase self-awareness and love for ourselves and others.
Eva is a licensed clinical social worker with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Behavior from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA, a Master of Social Work from University of Southern California, and 27 years of experience working as a therapist.
Eva is originally from Saltsjöbaden, Sweden. She came to the United States by herself in her late teens, and now lives in Winchester, VA, with her husband and 6.5-year-old German Shepherd and Standard Poodle mix Buster. What Eva enjoys most about being a therapist is getting to know her clients and finding ways to best support and validate them. She believes that a good therapeutic relationship rests on a mutual learning process. “Every patient I have worked with has in one way or another, all with their unique story to tell, helped me sharpen my professional curiosity and broadened my clinical frames of reference”, says Eva.
As a therapist, Eva is approachable and compassionate. She meets her clients where they are, offering calm guidance to help them reach their goals. She treats young adults and adults, specializing in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and trauma.
