Personal Statement
Although trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I draw from different psychotherapy orientations because I believe that therapy should be tailored to fit the individual client's needs. Therapy works best when client and therapist have a strong working relationship, so one of my top priorities is understanding your situation and validating your experiences. This creates a safe and supportive environment into which the therapeutic alliance can occur.
My clients quickly discover that I am very honest about my ideas and thoughts and how I convey these to them. I try to be very genuine and authentic with my clients which means I employ a lot of humor and personality while maintaining a warm and direct approach.
I can never know you as well as you know yourself so, as your guide and advocate through the process, I'll help you develop the goals and courage to create the life you want, whether you are looking to reduce anxiety, feel more connected to the present, or reduce ruminations about the past.
If you are facing anxiety or depression, locating and contacting the right therapist is hard. You have to take quite a risk. I understand that and want to congratulate you on taking the first steps!
