Personal Statement
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist offering psychotherapy to individuals on weekdays and Saturdays. I enjoy working with adults and specialize in depression, anxiety, family-of-origin issues, and relationships concerns. Furthermore, I have a special interest in working with clients who feel marginalized or oppressed by issues relating to gender, age, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, etc. Regardless of the issues that bring a client in, therapy is catered to the individual needs of each client, and focuses on the themes and patterns that produce pain and the strengths and resources that bring joy.
Working with each client in a collaborative manner, I offer a supportive, directive, and empathic approach. Each client's degree of symptoms and level of functioning is assessed within a biopsychosocial framework, thus allowing for compassionate understanding and research-based treatment goals.
I believe that through examining past patterns, themes, and relationships, clients can better understand the present and more intentionally and consciously frame the future. As a result of this work, insight develops, which leads to symptom relief, empowerment, wiser choices, and solace; in other words, a life worth living.
