Personal Statement

I am a clinical psychologist, with offices in San Francisco and Mill Valley, and I really enjoy working with my clients. I work primarily with adults (including older teenagers) of all sexual orientations, addressing depression, anxiety, stage-of-life and transition issues, trauma and PTSD. Other presenting problems include low self-esteem, procrastination/motivation problems, poor relationships, addiction and impulse control problems, and gay/lesbian/bisexual issues, including coming out.

I'll sit with you and we'll look at what you present together. I try to be very thorough, and to make no assumptions. I will also be a real person with you, listening, supporting, challenging, offering ideas, looking at all of it with you, working hard together.

I have been doing EMDR since 1990. It is just one therapeutic tool, but I find it can be a very effective and powerful one. I also work with my clients on the effects of exercise on mental health.
