Personal Statement

Our lives consist of an integration of our own unique thoughts and behaviors, as well as environmental forces that surround and influence us. I believe that spirituality, psychology, biology, and environmental factors interact with each other to create a person’s belief system and behavioral/cognitive (thought) reactions toward life. Sometimes, psychotherapy is necessary to aid a person toward restructuring those thoughts and behaviors. As a certified cognitive behavioral therapist and board certified professional counselor, I can help you identify and modify unhealthy behavioral/cognitive patterns for more fulfillment and contentment.

My background is in Gestalt and family systems, and I am also a trained mediator and certified relationship specialist. Not only can I provide individuals with insight into their role within the context of these systems, but I also work to help couples and families find resolution. My role is to facilitate your path toward improved self-care and quality of life. Through assessment and an individualized plan for intervention, I can provide you with the necessary education to create a toolbox of coping skills, so you can create positive change in your life.
