Personal Statement
I am Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, who is passionate about helping men, women and couples find freedom from the root causes of their emotional, spiritual and relational concerns. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 12 years as a church ministry leader. I have led couples' relationship enhancement courses, led women's ministry and counseled hundreds as a lay counselor.
For those who desire Christian-based counseling, I am well equipped to integrate Biblical principles with the best of my professional training to help you reduce anxiety, resolve trauma, complete your grief or communicate better with your spouse.
I use Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to help you make sense of conflicting desires and needs you experience within your own soul. Studies have shown IFS to be effective in reducing pain, depression and even helping patients with rheumatoid arthritis experience improved physical function. Sometimes we can hold our emotional pain as physical pain in different parts of our body. Working through the various layers of emotions can bring relief and greater peace to mind, body and spirit. What could happen if you no longer needed to carry regret, shame, guilt, anger or hurt in the same way?
I help my clients to have an experience with healthy thoughts that brings transformation and inner healing. Through a unique process, we uncover the root of the problem to re-calibrate their feelings so they do not overreact as easily. As a result of this process, my clients find that it is not difficult to maintain the gains they make in therapy.

Time alone does not heal wounds of the heart. These stages of grief models suggest that if you just wait long enough, you will move through all the stages until you are healed. This leads to months and years of unnecessary heartache and disappointment.
