Personal Statement
Need to talk? We usually know when it is finally time to sit down with someone and sort things out. Since 1988 I have been privileged to provide my North County community a trusted resource for their counseling and therapy needs. Much like a trusted family physician, a great therapist is someone you know you can rely on to touch bases with about a something that has kind of caught you off guard. My approach is to work together with you to support you in dealing with the issues that bring you into my office. If you get in touch with me, we'll spend some time on the phone talking about your situation and make sure we are a good fit together.
I use a wide variety of strategies, however, you will likely experience our work a fairly down to earth chance to talk about the things that brought you into the office. I welcome the opportunity to provide individual or couples counseling as I support families in their emotional growth. Some of the issues we can focus on in the office include marriage counseling, depression, anxiety, addiction or alcoholism, codependency and self-esteem.
After you have sorted through the issues that brought you in, some clients decide to maintain an ongoing working relationship, providing them a truly confidential setting with someone who is supportive and knows the important aspects of their life. Some clients have come to really value maintaining an anchor in their lives - an annual check-in like they have with their primary doc. This sort of trusted connection defines my vision of a being my community's Marriage and Family Therapist.
