Personal Statement
Are you feeling discontent, stressed out, or held back from living the life you desire? Through art therapy and mind-body therapies you can share your hopes and your challenges in a safe and non-threatening environment, while letting go of what no longer serves you and building upon your strengths. Some can talk for hours with little relief, but through the creative process relief may be found.
I work with people of all ages facing issues related to grief and loss, life transitions, stress, anxiety, life purpose, personal identity, interpersonal relationships, and more. My approach stems from my training as an art therapist and counselor, as well as my training in mind-body practices such as yoga, meditation, and other grounding and centering techniques. I completed my Masters in Art Therapy & Counseling in 2012 at the George Washington University. Since then I have worked with individuals, families, and groups in hospice, bereavement, mental health, and community settings.
I provide a non-judgmental and secure environment where individuals are encouraged to share their story in new and creative ways, build upon their strengths, and find new meanings and opportunities for fulfillment.
No prior art experience is needed. In art therapy the art and creative process become a second language and a tool for growth, discovery, and healing. Art therapy and mind-body therapies can help address issues such as grief & loss, trauma, mental health concerns, life transitions, chronic pain, self- worth, stress, anxiety, and more.
