Personal Statement

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals understand and build on personal strengths while addressing challenges. I believe that taking an honest, directive and nurturing approach is the key to successful treatment. The predominate therapeutic modalities I use are CBT, EMDR, Behavioral and Psycho Educational. Over the years I have worked to find unique ways to adapt common therapeutic approaches to meet the developmental needs of each individual. Currently I am exploring ways women can use EMDR to address beliefs that are presenting challenges during the prenatal, birthing and postpartum phases of their journey.

My areas of clinical interest are Perinatal Mood Disorders, Trauma, Learning Disorders, Attachment Disorders, Behavioral Issues, Anxiety Disorders, Depression and Social Skills Impairments. I enjoy working with clients in both an individual, family and group therapy setting.

Outside of my private practice I have had extensive clinical experience working with youth, adolescents and their families in wilderness therapy programs. This background has given me tremendous experience in diagnostic evaluation, creative treatment planning, intensive family therapy and successful work with resistant clients.
