Personal Statement
Are you struggling with feeling motivated? Are you having difficulty in your marriage or relationship? Do you have a child who is withdrawing, acting out, or struggling in school? I am an open-minded, active listener who provides a safe and comfortable environment for clients to share their thoughts and feelings without being judged. I help clients to make connections between their thoughts, feelings and beliefs, and teach them how to look at challenging situations from different perspectives.
I specialize in supporting families through marital conflict, separation and divorce. I help children, teens and adults work through overwhelming emotions by teaching them valuable skills to build up their tolerance to distress. I help my clients to set realistic, attainable goals, and support them as they work towards those goals. I also empower clients with a variety of strengths-based activities. I further help parents with positive parenting, co-parenting, and to improve their relationships with their kids.
My experience also includes: working with individuals suffering with depression, phobias, anxiety; child custody issues; working through past history of physical or sexual abuse and neglect; providing grief counseling after loss; and working with families affected by alcoholism, addictions, and struggling with codependency.
