Personal Statement

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide counseling/therapy services to individual, couples, and groups. I'm comfortable working with a broad spectrum of issues including relationship concerns, life transitions, developmental struggles, self-esteem, loss and grief, and healing from sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse with young adults, adults, and seniors. In addition, I have worked extensively with college students, staff, and faculty in colleges and universities.

Through a counseling relationship that encompasses compassion and guidance, I'm committed to helping clients find new ways of understanding and coping with internal struggles and external events that cause them pain, difficulty, or confusion. I work toward enabling clients to find new ways of understanding and coping with the changes in their lives.

Using cognitive, family systems, and psychodynamic approaches, I offer support and practical feedback to help clients reach their goals. I have worked at a community mental health center for 7 years and have served as the Director of Counseling at colleges and universities for 28 years. I've also presented workshops on various topics to professional and community audiences.
